Mission:
|
|
The
mission of the Laboratory
of Immunopathogenesis
and Bioinformatics
(LIB), SAIC-Frederick, Inc.
is to provide laboratory and
bioinformatic
support to the National Institute
of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
(NIAID).
The major areas of support include:
- The operation
and
management of an Affymetrix GeneChip(R) screening core facility.
- Investigating
how HIV-1 and therapies for HIV-1 infection
modulate lymphocyte function, turnover rates and
gene expression.
- Development
of DAVID bioinformatics to enhance data analysis in functional
annotation, particularly for microarray and proteomics studies. DAVID and EASE were developed to primarily
support the
bioinformatic needs of NIAID researchers, and also freely accessible to
world-wide scientists.
